Step into our 1,600-square-foot Culinary Studio—an inviting teaching kitchen outfitted with state-of-the-art Viking Range® appliances and nestled inside the Chateau Elan Winery. Led by our passionate culinary team, guests are invited to roll up their sleeves and enjoy hands-on cooking classes and private culinary experiences that celebrate the art of good food.

Cooking Classes

Our cooking classes are designed for beginners, but even seasoned foodies will enjoy the hands-on experience and personal interaction with our professional chef in the Culinary Studio. Each class includes expert instruction in preparing a three-course meal, a chef’s hat, full servings of each dish, curated wine pairings selected by our sommelier, and a take-home recipe booklet.

Get Ready for the Culinary Experience

The Day of Your Class | Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early. Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes if possible. The chef reserves the right to substitute menu items or ingredients as needed. Classes may be rescheduled at the chef’s discretion.

Registration | Participants must be 21 years or older. Classes run approximately 2 to 3 hours. The cost is $160 per person (plus taxes) and covers the cooking class only. For information about adding an overnight stay, please contact Reservations.

Cancellation Policy & Liability | Prepayment by credit card is required to reserve your spot. Cancellations made at least 72 hours before the class receive a full refund. No-shows and cancellations within 72 hours of the class are non-refundable.

By booking a class at Château Élan Culinary Studio, you acknowledge the inherent risks involved with cooking activities, including the use of kitchen appliances, knives, potential allergic reactions, and interaction with other participants.

Each course in our Viking Culinary Studio is thoughtfully crafted by a talented team of chefs, designed to be both seasonally inspired and approachable for the home cook. Led by culinary experts, our team is dedicated to creating an inviting, hands-on experience that feels just as comfortable as your own kitchen—only more delicious.

Chad Hicks — Chef & Instructor
Chef Chad Hicks has led our teaching kitchen since joining Château Élan in 2019. A former executive chef with a lifelong passion for cooking, he now brings his expertise to the Viking Culinary Studio, where he teaches evening classes Wednesday through Saturday and shares his love for culinary education with every guest.
